Do you sell your books as an ebook?
Yes, we are selling an online version. The books are protected by a security software and you will receive a PDF Online ID and password after ordering. You will be able to Print a copy of your book but the book is copy protected. (You can not copy and paste from your book)
Will the protected documents work on a Mac?
Yes, however, they will not work using Mac Preview. We recommend using an Adobe Reader version for Mac. http://get.adobe.com/reader/
Will the protected documents work on a handheld device such as a Sony e-Book Reader or Kindle?
No, at this time, we do not have a version available in that format.
What are the requirements to view my ebook?
To view the secure PDF, ideally, Adobe Reader 8. All that is required is Adobe Reader or Acrobat Pro 6.0.1 or higher. If using Windows XP then Acrobat Reader 6 and up should work. If using a Windows Vista Acrobat Reader 8 and up should work.
Do I need to download additional software to access my PDF?
The only software you need is a version of Acrobat Reader, you will need it installed prior to receiving the document. Download a free copy of Adobe Reader here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/.
If you order more than one book and it is not published yet, how do I get my book?
First, check the web site for the published date. When the book is published, you can go to your email and follow the link to get your download.
What are the mailing dates of the books?
The mailing dates for the books are posted on this web site check the home tab. Once I get the actual mailing date I will post it on the web site. The PDF file will be available as soon as I send it to the printers. I will also post that date on the web site, it can be up to one week earlier than the book is actually mailed.
Why do you offer a combination of the paperback and PDF file?
For those of you that like to have the physical book for your reference, we wanted to give you an option of gaining access to the earlier release of the PDF file. With the PDF file you will have access to the book as soon as I send it to the publisher. That can be up to one week earlier than the book is actually mailed.
Where can I download my ebook?
After you pay for your book, there will be a link for you to download the book you purchased. If the book you ordered is not published yet, check the web site for the published date. When the book is published, you can go to your email and follow the link to get your download. You only need to download the book once. We have given you multiple downloads in case you needed to download again.
After opening the ebook you should save the file:
After opening your book, you should save it to a folder that you routinely use. At the top of the page on the left, you should find an icon that looks like a disk, click on that icon to save your file.
Instructions for Un-locking your documents:
  1. Open the PDF, enter the "PDF Online ID" and "password". You will find your unique "PDF Online ID" on your receipt in your email. When you look at your email, it should look like this if you ordered on the web. You will find your temporary PDF Online ID under the book you ordered. If you ordered through the #800 you will get an email with the link to follow to download your ebook. This is your temporary User ID to open your locked pdf file. The password is xxx
  2. Two security warnings will come up, the 1st is to inform you that you will be communicating with our server and the 2nd informs you that our server is sending a response back.
  3. You must click "Allow" on both warnings
  4. Check the box "Remember my action for this site" if you want to always allow the communications for this site.
I am having problems unlocking a protected PDF document, what should I do?
  1. Make sure that you are currently online with either a dial-up or high-speed connection.
  2. Ensure that you have Adobe Acrobat 6.01 or later. The exact version of an Adobe Acrobat product is displayed in the popup that opens when choosing the "About ..." item in the "Help" menu of the Adobe Acrobat product. If you have an earlier version, you can obtain the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader for free at Adobe's web site: Download a free copy of Adobe Reader here http://get.adobe.com/reader/
  3. Check that you have enabled Acrobat JavaScript in your Adobe Acrobat product. This setting is enabled by default in the factory configuration. To enable Adobe JavaScript, launch your Adobe Acrobat product and select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu item. Choose the "JavaScript" item in the preferences popup and place a check in the "Enable Acrobat JavaScript" option.
  4. If you have a software firewall program on your computer, such as Windows Firewall, ZoneAlarm, Norton or McAfee Personal Firewall, then you need to allow your Adobe Acrobat product to communicate with the Internet in order for your document to unlock. If you are not sure how to do this then please contact your software firewall vendor for instructions.
  5. If you have successfully performed all of the above steps are still not able to unlock your protected PDF document then you should try unlocking the document from a different computer to confirm that the problem is not related to your computer.
Receiving the message: "This document requires global security policy to be disabled." What do I do?
This error can occur in Adobe Reader Acrobat version 8.0 or later. To correct the problem, please do the following:
Instructions for configuring the Global Object Security Policy in Adobe:
  1. Open Adobe Reader
  2. From the menu bar, select Edit > Preferences from the list
  3. On the left-hand sidebar, select JavaScript
  4. Make sure the "Enable global object security policy" option is unchecked
  5. Click the OK button
  6. Close Adobe
  7. Re-open the document
